Welcome to Fast Food – a Lent resource for small groups
Did you know the word Lent means 'longer day'? It's a reminder of sunshine and spring time and this year it starts on 1 March, with Pancake Day on 28 February.
It's a great time to shine a light on the dark places of the world and to show solidarity with Christians who pay a price for following Jesus. So, this Lent, why not share a meal with others, serve up stories of the persecuted church and take away a weekly fasting challenge?
Fast Food - a brand new Open Doors Lent resource for 2017.
Fast Food is a great way for churches, youth groups, families and friends to show solidarity with the persecuted church. Here's a taster of what it involves...
- Share a meal with others. You can share a meal with your family, friends, church group or small group. Each meal links to a country where Christians are persecuted. There are eight meals, but you can do as many or as few as you like.
- Serve up stories of the persecuted church. During the meal you'll explore the challenges facing Christians in that country. There will be videos to watch, and downloadable resources to help you.
- Take away a 'fasting' challenge. At the end of the meal you open a sealed envelope containing a challenge - but you won't know what the challenge is until you open the seal! Whatever it is, it will give you a taste of what life is like for persecuted Christians around the world.
Fast Food is a Lent resource with a difference. Our free Fast Food pack contains all you need, including full instructions plus eight 'menus' with an outline plan for each meal. Plus there will be a huge range of videos, information and downloadable resources on this website.
So - are you up for a challenge? Are you ready for some Fast Food? Order your free Fast Food pack today - and this Lent, get fed by the faith of the persecuted church.
