We have trips to varied locations throughout the year. Each trip is individual but they all range from between 6 to 14 days. Please have a look at the Travel pages on this website for more detailed information.

The cost of the trips ranges from around £1,000 to around £2,300. Please don't allow money to be a deterrent. Trips are paid for in instalments. For ideas on raising funds for your trip, email inspire@opendoorsuk.org and ask for a fundraising pack.

On most of our trips the price includes flights, insurance, visas, good twin accommodation (additional charge for single accommodation), tour guides (for the tourist activities and the time in country where needed), transport within the country, airport pick up, most meals, and tourist admission fees (apart from optional extras). Most trips do not include drinks or tips and some meals may not be included.

We are totally committed to supporting and serving our persecuted brothers and sisters who suffer for their faith. This means that we are careful to ensure that we do not divert unnecessary funds from the field and we are able to provide much needed care for persecuted Christians. By charging a fee we ensure that Open Doors does not subsidise trips. This includes staff costs.

1. Open Doors charges a flat fee of £250 for each trip
2. This covers:

• Support from the Open Doors travel team including briefing and de-briefing sessions held by experienced Open Doors staff
• A traveller pack of relevant information to help you prepare prayerfully and physically for your trip
• A DVD highlighting the situation for persecuted Christians in the region where you will be travelling
• Expert support from our field team while you are in country
• Comprehensive travel insurance*
• All administration support to cover flight arrangements, visas and travel details while on your trip

* Please note that this package is set and if you decide not to utilise it to the full, i.e. use your own insurance, we still have to cost the fee at the advertised level.

Part of the cost of your trip is a fee that includes comprehensive travel insurance. You are welcome to use your own insurance if you prefer, however we are not able to reduce the cost of your trip.

You must be between the ages of 18-70 to travel with Open Doors and also be in good health.

Open Doors will arrange all your flights and we can arrange visas for you also. If you would like to arrange this yourself, please ask.

Some Travel Teams are made up of people from all around the world and some are for residents of the UK and Ireland only. The Open Doors UK and Ireland office can only accept applications from UK and Ireland residents.

All of our trips require you to attend a briefing prior to your trip. We recommend that you attend the briefing closest to your departure date - by doing this we can try to introduce you to your fellow travellers. By agreeing to travel with Open Doors you also agree to sharing your email address with fellow travellers so that you can communicate together about your trip.

If you are making a delivery trip you may take Bibles, study guides, training materials or Sunday School resources according to the need in the area you are travelling to. If you are involved in activities and crafts for children, you will need to take along materials for these activities.

Hopefully some fellow believers! However, we cannot guarantee that you will meet believers on all trips as in some countries it is unsafe for them to be seen with Western Christians. Please see the Travel Brochure for more country-specific information.

Each trip is different depending upon the type of trip you are making and the country that you are visiting. We have several different types of trips including:

• Delivery - taking Christian literature to persecuted believers
• Prayer – prayer walking as you visit sites of interest
• Strengthening - taking part in various training programmes organised by Open Doors alongside persecuted Christians
• Encouragement - Travelling to a country to meet with, pray for and encourage our persecuted brothers and sisters. Please note that circumstances during your trip may mean that you cannot meet believers because of the risk to them. If this happens then the trip's main focus is to pray for breakthrough in that country.
• Youth - These trips are for travellers who are aged between 18-25. However, we are also offer places to those who work with youth or who are under 30 and still very young at heart
• Women to Women - These trips are for women only and often include an opportunity to minister to your persecuted sisters.

All of our trips include the opportunity to visit local sites of interest. This is partly because you are entering the country on a tourist visa and partly because our teams in the field are proud of their heritage and long to show it to you.

You will be given all the information you need in a travel pack and briefing held at our offices. You will also be thoroughly briefed by your guide when you arrive in country. You should expect most of the information for your trip to be with you about four weeks before your planned departure date.
