Special TripsVery occasionally Open Doors has unique opportunities for specific travellers. The most regular special trips that we run are Women to Women trips. Recognising that sometimes sisters can offer each other the deepest and most healing comfort, we aim to send women to meet with, encourage and pray for sisters who are mourning or just struggling with the trials of raising a family in the midst of persecution. We also have rare opportunities for people with specific skills to share their experiences and advice with their Christian family abroad. Often God is equipping us so that he can send us out. He needs us to be willing go and use the gifts he has particularly given us. Don't let your gifts go to waste! This trip focuses on encouraging women and widows, with the opportunity to visit Open Doors projects for women. ColombiaDates: 10-21 August This trip will provide an opportunity for volunteers to meet with indigenous Christians in Colombia and to hear their stories first-hand. ColombiaDates: 5-16 October 2013 This trip will provides an opportunity for travellers to meet with women in Colombia, many of whom are widows of church leaders. As you hear their stories first-hand, be prepared to offer them prayer and encouragement. Bangladesh (Speaker’s trip)Dates: 6-11 November Christians in Bangladesh make up less than one percent of the overall population. Join in a special training session, where you will have the opportunity to meet with Bangladeshi believers to bring much needed hope and encouragement. You will also visit projects set up by Open Doors to support local Christians. ColombiaDates: 1-10 December The Children's Centre provides a safe haven for children affected by the violence and persecution in Colombia. Each year we send travellers to Colombia to celebrate the annual graduation of the young adults who are ready to leave the home.
