Do you have a heart for helping our persecuted brothers and sisters?

Are you available on an ad hoc basis? Perhaps you’ve got study, home or work commitments but you also have some available time? Or perhaps you’re just blessed with plenty of time and want to serve.

Open Doors is a Christian charity, part of Open Doors International, a global NGO network which works in over 60 countries to support and strengthen persecuted Christians. Last year the UK base raised approximately £15 million to provide practical support to persecuted Christians such as food, medicines, trauma care, legal assistance, safe houses and schools, as well as spiritual support through Christian literature, training and resources.

We’re looking for someone to support our current Supporter Relations team during times when our permanent team members need to step away from the phones to join our prayer times, retreat times, or other meetings.

You’ll need to be confident using our systems and following procedures, competent in your IT skills, good at listening to people and facilitating their requests, and comfortable praying with our supporters over the phone.

As a committed Christian*, you will have a good understanding of the Christian community and its various denominational expressions throughout the UK & Ireland. You will be committed to high standards and show exceptional attention to detail.

For an informal chat about the role you’re welcome to contact our Supporter Relations Team Leader on 01993 460015. Or please download the application form and send this with an email explaining why you’re interested in applying to: recruitteam@opendoorsuk.org.

Closing date: We will review applications as they arrive and interviews will be held on a rolling basis at mutually convenient times.

*There is an occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 for this post to be held by an actively practising Christian who assents to our statement of faith.
